As the largest city in Canada, Toronto has much to offer visitors. From cultural delights to architectural feats, natural wonders to shopping havens, the capital city of Ontario is continually one of the most popular tourist destinations on the Northern American continent. The city is home to the CN Tower, one of the tallest observation towers in the world, as well as Casa Loma (a lavish castle), several museums (Royal Ontario, Bata Shoe Museum, Gardiner Ceramic Art Museum and Black Creek amongst them), the world famous Toronto Zoo, the beautiful City Hall and the Hockey Hall of Fame. Outside of the urban core, Toronto also has a number of lovely natural areas including several beaches and parks. Niagara Falls is within easy driving distance, as is the Waterloo region, the Great Lakes and the Kawarthas.
Toronto is serviced by one of the world's busiest airports, Toronto Pearson International, which sees over thirty million passengers annually. With multiple terminals serving airlines such as Air Canada (it uses the airport as a base), Sunwing Airlines, Air Transat, British Airways, Skyservice, Thomas Cook and Westjet, the airport is the main entrance into Toronto for international visitors. Other forms of entry include rail (from the south, connections from east coast cities such as New York and Boston are common) and road (with several coach routes running from the United States).
As Toronto is such a large city with many outlying regions of interest to tourists it is recommended that you organize car hire for your holiday - Avis, Hertz, National-Alamo, Budget and Dollar-Thrifty are amongst the companies within the city.
